New Website

We are about to launch a new website at the end of the month. Check it out before it is official at www.fairleelibrary.weebly.com. Then fill out this survey about the site so that we can make it as user-friendly as possible. Thanks!

May Events

Creative_WritingThursday May 9th will be the first meeting of a creative writing group.  It will be  a bi-weekly beginner’s writing workshop focused on craft and criticism. Stop by the library for more information.

We are also going to be launching a new website in June. To view the new site now go to www.fairleelibrary.weebly.com. Then please fill out this survey   so we can make the website as easy to use as possible.

As always we have movie nights,  and game nights check out the calendar of events for more information.

April Events

gamingWe have a few different game events happening this month. Friday the 5th at 7pm is a Board Game Night. The library just got Apples to Apples so come try it out.  On the 18th at 7pm we will have a video game night with Xbox 360 on the big screen.

This month’s movie night will be on the 19th at 7pm. We will be showing the new James Bond movie.

Wild Edible Plants and Mushrooms

We had a great night learning about all the wild edibles that can be found here in VT.

Here are the PFD Booklet and the  Spore Card.

I will also make them available in the library.

February Events

Risk2We have some fun events going on this month. On the 8th at 7pm we are going to have a Risk extravaganza for game night. We have both traditional and Lord of the Rings Risk.  Stop by and try your hand at conquering the world.

On the 15th we are going to have a jewelry making night. We will provide the supplies you just have to show up with your creativity. Check out our Pinterest board to get some ideas.

On the 22nd at 7pm we will have movie night. The movie is nominated for 7 academy awards including best picture.  Call or email to know the title.

We also have Scrabble every Wednesday at 5:30 so stop by whenever you can make it.

January Events

photo of the cover of the book In Times PastThis  month there will have a board game night on the 11th at 7pm, as well as a Scrabble evening on the 23rd at 5pm.

Movie night will be on the 25 at 7pm.

On the 30th at 7pm Larry Coffin will be at the library to talk about his second book in the In Times Past series. He will be reading from the book as well as talking about his “Decades of Change” project.

Holiday Hours

nutcracker The Library will be close on Christmas day the 25th of December and will re-open with normal hours on the 26th.

The Library will also be closed the 1st of January and will re-open on the 2nd with normal hours.

So make sure to stock up with books for a few long weekends!

Sign up for the Downton Abbey Tea by December     14th to reserve your spot! Then join us on January 6th at 2 pm for tea and scones while we catch up on all the Downton drama before the start of the third season.

Movie Night, Friday the 7th at 7pm join us to watch Pixar’s Brave.

Cookie Swap! The Library and FLUFF (Fairlee Ladies Up For Fun) will host a cookie swap on the 12th at 7pm. Bring cookies to share and a container to take home all the goodies. Hot drinks will be provided.

If you have a new unopened toy you would like to donate the Library has a Toys for Tots donation box.

November Happenings

This month we are reading Alias Grace by Margaret Atwood for book group. Stop by to pick up a copy and then join us for discussion on the 14th at 7pm.

We are also having another movie night! Assemble for the Avengers on the 16th at 7pm.avengers movie poster

October Events

Our first events start next week with story time on Tuesday the 9th at 10am and a movie night on Friday the 12th at 7pm. We will be watching the Hunger Games!

There are also a few more copies of Room by  Emma Donoghue if you want to come to the book discussion on the 17th at 7pm.
